ABOUT ME

"It all started when in kinder garden they offered free piano lessons. I was back then around five years of age and I was looking up to my cousin in everything he did. He started learning piano even earlier and, of course, I had to sign up. I was the only one to sign up.  And the long journey  began, like for every  child, with a lot of exercises, horrible hours in front of the instrument and  a lot of crying. I truly hated it. But somehow I would not allow myself to give up. I knew, if I give up now I will regret it later.

Ten years passed like that. I grew older; stopped comparing myself to my cousin – he gave up music long ago anyways - and started comparing myself now to myself yesterday. This is how I travel through life until today – stubborn, dedicated and striving for constant personal development."

I grew up in Russia in those days, when people were still less into politics and more into art. When I was fourteen, my piano teacher convinced me to try myself in singing; he believed it was a good idea. Too bad for him, once I started singing I just couldn’t stop and invested much more time into that than into piano practice.

I was a normal teenager. When I became sixteen years old I organised a power metal band. It didn’t take long though before my musicians told me that my voice is too soft for the purpose and I was invited to play keyboard. I really enjoyed it, but deep inside I was still dreaming about a singing career.  My parents, on the other hand, were very smart people. They did not get convinced by the idea of me moving to Finland so to become a rising star of a northern metal wave.  So before I could even think of an alternative plan, I found myself in Switzerland studying something very far away from arts.

But I am stubborn, remember? So as soon as that was over I returned to music and now, more than ever, I cannot imagine my life without it. My music taste has undergone some significant change, however.

After beautiful and expensive years in Switzerland I followed my husband to Austria , where I did my first steps into the music industry by working as a singer on the private parties and corporate events. We literally never had any weekends off in the summer and Christmas periods, which gave me four years of solid staging experience and widely-broaden repertoire. I keep doing this job until now, because I simply enjoy making people happy by singing the songs they know and being a part of their big life events; it always makes me feel like I made their world a little better today.

Time went on and as I got to know more musicians around, together with a bass player we organised a Jazz Band, called ThreeCheersForever and also participated in the acoustics projects and music networking events organised by Can Erkurt. Those allowed us to create a pretty big pool of musicians, who work together interchangeably on various commercial and non-profit music projects.

Since my life brought me to Germany , I found my way to the GrooveXplosion party band and I returned to music studies with the [MA] Music Academy Frankfurt.  I am always looking for the new ideas, new musicians, new jobs and new inspirations...
We´ll see how it goes....
